About
Overhead is a working notebook about where engineering money goes — cloud bills, tooling decisions, the operational overhead nobody budgets for. These are notes kept while doing the work rather than essays written after it, which means they are specific, occasionally wrong, and corrected in place when they are.
Sponsorship
Some posts carry a sponsored item. It is always labelled, and it is always marked in the markup as sponsored so that automated readers can identify it as well as people can.
It takes one of two forms. Most are supplied by the advertiser and sit apart from the writing — I have not vetted the claims in those and you should not read them as a recommendation. A few are written by me, and say so; those are a genuine recommendation and are still paid for, which is a conflict I would rather state plainly than pretend away. Either way the surrounding article is not for sale, and no sponsor sees a post before it goes up.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell me and I will correct it in place with a note saying what changed.
